AirDroid Business Introduces Remote PIN Entry for Android 12+ Managed Devices

Anita R. Updated on Sep 11, 2026 Filed to: Product Updates

[Singapore, Jurong West] - AirDroid Business, an enterprise device management and remote operations solution developed by Sand Studio, today announced Remote PIN Entry, a new capability designed to help IT teams remotely unlock supported managed devices running Android 12 or later.

When IT teams need to support a PIN-locked device running Android 12 or later, the PIN keypad may not appear in the remote session. Even with the correct PIN, remote control cannot begin until someone on site unlocks the device.

This restriction is tied to Android security controls and device-specific implementations that protect lock-screen credentials from being captured during screen sharing. However, on Android 11 and earlier, the PIN keypad is generally visible and can be used directly during remote control.

For organizations managing devices across warehouses, stores, factories, healthcare facilities, and field locations, waiting for on-site assistance can delay troubleshooting and extend device downtime.

Introducing Remote PIN Entry

With Remote PIN Entry in AirDroid Business, admins can enter the device’s existing numeric PIN using a dedicated keypad in the console. After Android validates the PIN and unlocks the device, admins can start remote control and troubleshoot the issue.

“Remote support shouldn’t be delayed because no one is available to unlock a device on site,” said an AirDroid Business product manager. “Remote PIN Entry helps IT teams begin troubleshooting sooner and restore devices faster, without changing the device’s existing PIN or lock-screen security.”

Efficient and Secure Remote Support for Distributed Android Fleets

AirDroid Business's powerful remote access enables central IT teams and MSPs to manage and support business-critical Android devices across industries. Remote PIN Entry builds on this capability by addressing a specific PIN-lock-screen access issue.

  • Start troubleshooting sooner: Unlock managed devices from the console to reduce waiting time, downtime, and the cost of coordinating on-site access.
  • Keep the existing PIN: Android validates the PIN normally, with no need to clear, reset, or change it.
  • Reduce lockout risk: The console displays remaining PIN attempts to help prevent repeated failures.

Availability

Remote PIN Entry is now available to AirDroid Business customers managing supported devices that run Android 12 or later and use a numeric PIN lock. Administrators must know the device’s existing PIN.

AirDroid Business provides unattended remote access and control for Android phones, tablets, kiosks, digital signage, and other business endpoints. From a central console, IT teams and MSPs can access and troubleshoot devices across locations, reduce reliance on on-site support, and help keep business operations running.
